VOODOO SIX ANNOUNCE EUROPEAN TOUR WITH IRON MAIDEN 

AND NEW ALBUM RELEASE

British rockers VOODOO SIX are excited to announce they will release new album ‘Songs To Invade Countries To’ worldwide on May 27 via Universal Music, before embarking on the biggest tour of their career so far as main support to metal legends IRON MAIDEN on their European dates.

‘Songs To Invade Countries To’ will consist of 11 tracks mixed by Tony Newton & Pedro Ferreira (The Darkness, Enter Shikari, Therapy?) and mastered by Ade Emsley (Iron Maiden, Steve Harris).

The album release will be preceded by the release of brand new single ‘Sink Or Swim’ on March 4.

Voodoo Six will join Iron Maiden in Portugal for their European summer tour dates, heading through Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Poland and Sweden. The band has already been announced for major summer festivals such as Sonisphere Spain (Barcelona and Madrid), Sonisphere Italy and Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium)- with many more yet to come.

Iron Maiden founder and bassist Steve Harris comments: “I’ve been keeping an eye on Voodoo Six for a while now and they’ve produced a cracking new album with real promise. It’s great to support true British up and coming talent such as theirs and it’ll be a pleasure to have them out with us on tour.”

Voodoo Six vocalist Luke Purdie adds: “This is a huge deal for us and an amazing opportunity to support arguably the most iconic band in metal history. We came up with the album title ‘Songs To Invade Countries To’ ages ago since we’ve been wanting to get our music across to European shores for a long time – but it’s been made a reality now that we’ve been chosen to support Iron Maiden on these dates. It’s going to be a very exciting year!”

Prior to their dates with Iron Maiden, Voodoo Six will also be heading out on a run of headline UK club shows throughout March and April.

Well, we decided to leave for Dublin Thursday night instead of the Friday morning due to heavy snow being forecasted and we didn’t want to take our chances. This turned out to be the best decision ever though we experience some turmoil in the process. The snow hit us en route and it wasn’t merciful, trees were scattered across the road and the bus was slipping all over the place. How Tony got us to the hotel in Holyead safely that night I will never know.

Anyway, we thought we were out of the proverbial woods, those woods being a massive white hazardous bitch with branches, but no. Our ferry was delayed due to the adverse weather conditions and so we decided to grab some food at a cafe across the road from the docks. We ended up being put on another ferry an hour later and all was fine. The crossing was a bit choppy and it tested all of our gag reflexes but we got to Dublin safely, which was the main thing.

The next morning we headed to Ballymena for the first show of the tour. It was a good one and has set us in good stead for the shows ahead. The new material went down well and the general vibe on stage was a happy one. So it was straight back to the hotel after the gig for some shut eye as we had an early ferry to Scotland to catch in the morning and catch it we did. It was a long slog to Inverness but we arrived on time. The gig was great, good crowd. it felt much tighter than the previous night. Luckily the hotel was only a 10 minute drive so we all got a decent nights sleep.

Today we have a day off and so far we have done a bit of shopping and been to a whiskey distillery. Everyone enjoyed the free tasting except for me, not really my kind of beverage to be honest.

As I’m writing this we are all chilling at the hotel in Perth pondering what/where to eat whilst Tony is on the laptop sorting out the album booklet artwork.

Voodoo Six Announce Spring 2013 UK Headline Tour

British rockers VOODOO SIX are excited to announce they will be embarking on a headline tour of the UK and Ireland this March/April.

The dates come as the band prepares for the biggest announcement of their career yet concerning major tour plans for the remainder of 2013 and the imminent release of their new studio album which has been produced by bassist Tony Newton, mixed by Tony and Pedro Ferreira (The Darkness, Enter Shikari, Therapy?) and mastered by Ade Emsley (Iron Maiden, Steve Harris).

“All will be revealed on Feb 4th so stay tuned,” says Tony. “For now though, we wanted to give our fans some long awaited UK tour dates, and the promise that 2013 is going to be a massive year for the Voodoo!”

So, the news is finally out and the mood in camp V6 is a jubilant one. This year is going to be extremely busy with the album release due for 29th April and from March onwards Tour-O-Geddon begins! I will be keeping you all up to date the best I can when we hit the road on our UK headline tour and of course on our European adventure supporting Iron Maiden, which kicks off in May. Expect an abundance of photos and tour quotes.

We can’t wait to get out and play and we hope you are all enjoying our new single ‘Sink Or Swim’.
